8) Monitor Environmental Parameters--

1999--On eight occasions between 23. July and 12. October 1999, environmental parametersexpected to influence the growth and survival of the seed in the nurseries wasmeasured. Using an Horiba Multiprobe and YSI Dissolved Oxygen Meter,measurements were taken for dissolved oxygen, pH, conductivity, turbidity, watertemperature, and salinity. In conjunction with these measurements, Secchi diskmeasurements were taken to provide some indication of relative availablephytoplankton food densities.

2000--Due to limited funds, only seawater temperatures and salinities for the culture sitewere collected in 2000. Seawater temperatures were taken with a hand heldthermometer; salinities were measured using an AO refractometer. Both the 1999and 2000 measurements are compiled in the attached chart titled "EnvironmentalData."
