2) Secure Permits

Early in the project, four of the growers secured lease/permits from the Edgartown Harbor Master for the placement of four new moorings in "the Narrows" of Katama Bay in Edgartown. Jack Blake planned to attach his new upweller nursery to an existing permitted mooring. All the growers already held local and state aquaculture licenses permitting the activities involved in the culture of seed shellfish in the upweller nurseries.
